The 5th Annual Portland Concours de tartes aux fruits is coming Wednesday, June 13, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the Oregon Culinary Institute, 1701 SW Jefferson Street, in downtown Portland.
Chefs from throughout the city will compete to see who makes the best fruit tart. Members of the public may attend the juried competition and enjoy sampling the tarts as well as French sparkling and dessert wines. Celebrity chefs – Philippe Boulot of the MAC Club and The Heathman Restaurant and Pascal Chureau of Brasserie Montmartre and Allium Bistro – will select the best tarts. More than 25 chefs will compete, representing Allium Bistro, Andina, Aquariva, Beaverton Bakery, Bluehour, Brasserie Montmartre, C’est si bon, Chez Joly Catering, ClarkLewis, Irving Street Kitchen, La Petite Provence, Mother’s Bistro, Multnomah Athletic Club, Oregon Culinary Institute, Paley’s Place, St. Honoré, St. Jack, Heathman Restaurant, The International Culinary School and Wildwood.
The tasting event will include all the tartes you can sample, as well as wines. The price for members is $20; non-members, $30.
