Living Room Theaters in downtown Portland will support Bastille Day fundraising by offering a private film premiere event of the movie, Americano, on July 11.
The movie is directed and acted by Frenchman Mathieu Demy who is the son of legendary filmmakers Agnes Varda and Jacques Demy (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg). The movie also stars Selma Hayek and Geraldine Chapin.
The July 11 premiere night is a fundraiser — purchase tickets through the Alliance. Join other Francophiles for a glass of wine before the film; enjoy dinner during the film in the theater’s comfortable seating. Click here for the trailer.
Special premiere ticket prices are $7 for Alliance members and $9 for non-members. Must be 21 and over. Note that the dialogue in this movie is a mixture of French and English (the French is sub-titled) and explores issues of transatlantic identity and the unraveling of family secrets.
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT — EMAIL INFO@AFPORTLAND.ORG TO BE PUT ON THE WAITLIST.
