Fall 2008 Term Now Underway

The Alliance fall 2008 term began in mid-September and runs through November -- see the class listing below for details. Late or mid-term registrations are possible particularly in the intermediate and advanced classes -- call our office at 503.223.8388 for info. In addition to scheduled group classes, private lessons are available at all times. Schedules for mini-terms in December and full winter term (January through March) will be posted in November.
Assessing Your Level: Several Tools
Targeting a specific class but not sure if it's a good fit? We have several options depending on which holds the most appeal for you. One option: you can check the recommended pre-requisites (on the class listing below), scan the class descriptions, and/or call us for an interview (over the phone, in-person, or at a scheduled Open House event). Interactive Test: You can take the online interactive test which allows you to complete an online test which we then evaluate at our office for further follow-up. Self-Assessment: If you are zeroing in on a Connexions class in the beginning series and want to take a moment to do a quick self-assessment to see if a given level would be right for you, then take the Self-Evaluation Test for levels 101-104. For 200-series tests, click and print here for instructions and then download and print the appropriate test: 201 Test, 202 Test, 203 Test, or 204 Test. For 300-series tests, click and print here for instructions and then download and print the appropriate test: 301 Test, 302 Test, 303 Test, 304 Test, or 305 Test. Use these tests as an aid, remembering that Alliance teachers are adept in adjusting the difficulty of a class and its review content, to the students present in a given class.Core Classes - Fall Term Classes (September through November, 2008)
Classes are sequenced by level, from beginners at the top to advanced toward the bottom.
Note 1: Unless otherwise noted, all Core Level 1, Core Level 2 and Core Level 3 classes use the Connexions series of text, workbook and audio CD. See specific class descriptions for each class.
Note 2: Conversation classes for Intermediate and Advanced Students will be adjusted in level of difficulty to match the level of the students.
