Lisa Rollot

Lisa holds a BA in French and Spanish, and MA in French and Second Language Acquisition & Teaching, as well as a PhD in French and Francophone Studies. She is specialized in sociolinguistics and has done research in the revitalization of minority languages all over the French speaking world. Her mother's family are native French speakers from Louisiana. She has taught French, Spanish and English as a second language to students of all ages since 1994. She and her husband, a French national from Dijon, have raised their three children in both the US and France to be bilingual and bi-cultural.

Description: This class is all about basic communication: conveying an idea, responding and reacting during a conversation, and understanding spoken French. Interaction and exchanges between students are facilitated by the instructor following weekly thematic topics that include essential vocabulary and grammar. This class is open to students who have successfully completed Edito 104. If you haven’t completed Edito 104, verify your level on our website under “Find Your Level”.

Description: Do you want to travel to a French-speaking country but don't feel comfortable speaking to the locals once you get there?


In "French for travelers,"you will learn to communicate with people in daily situations while learning about local customs and cultural events.


The complete course will span a full year and focus on: travel logistics, cultural festivals, cultural & historical sites, seasonal foods and recipes & seasonal recreational activities.


Each week, we will spend the first half of class discussing a grammatical point and learning new vocabulary in order to understand a travel dialogue & the second half of class we will focus on a cultural element.


This class will be taught entirely in French and targets A1/A2 learners who have successfully completed Édito 104.

Parking Information

Street parking on SW 20th St. facing the Kamm House is limited. Free parking is available in Lot B at SW 18th and SW Columbia. Please obtain a parking pass from the office.

After 6 pm weekdays, students may park in the Willamette Dental lot at SW 20th and SW Jefferson as available.
