Marie-Pierre Wolfe

Marie-Pierre is originally from Lyon and was one of the founders of the French Elementary School program of the Eugene 4-J public school district, She served as a school principal in France before returning to the US where she enjoys teaching at the Alliance in addition to being an adjunct professor at the University of Washington in Vancouver. Marie-Pierre has been with the Alliance since 2008.

You will be reading Colette, Jules Verne, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, André Malraux, Marcel Pagnol.

Description: “Un peu de soleil dans l’eau froide” est le huitième roman de Françoise Sagan publié en 1960. Un film portant le même titre est tourné en 1971 par Jacques Deray.
Gilles Lantier, brillant journaliste parisien, en couple avec Héloïse, part se reposer seul quelques temps dans la famille de sa soeur à Limoges (Limousin), parce qu’il souffre de dépression. Il rencontre Nathalie Silvener lors d’un repas, et cette dernière tombe amoureuse de lui, bien qu’elle soit mariée…


Francoise Sagan, née Francoise Quoirez (1935-2004) écrivit son premier roman “Bonjour Tristesse” en été 1953, et il est publié par la maison d’édition “Julliard” en mars 1954. Il obtient le prix des critiques la même année, décerné par un jury prestigieux. Le roman connaît un succès prodigieux et fait scandale dans la classe sociale “bien pensante” dans laquelle est née Françoise. Elle a seulement 18 ans. Elle a publié 21 romans, 8 nouvelles, 11 pièces de théâtre, une vingtaine de mémoires, journaux et entretiens. On l’appela la “Mlle Chanel de la littérature” car elle libéra par son écriture toute la génération de jeunes femmes des années 1960.

Street parking on SW 20th St. facing the Kamm House is limited. Free parking is available in Lot B at SW 18th and SW Columbia. Please obtain a parking pass from the office.

After 6 pm weekdays, students may park in the Willamette Dental lot at SW 20th and SW Jefferson as available.
