Description: Take a look at some well-known French writers who also wrote about the art they encountered as viewers. From the Salons of the 18th Century as seen by Diderot to Surrealist art in the 20th century as viewed by Andre Breton, travel in time and space to experience the zeitgeist through the intersection of writing and artworks.
Students wishing to have a broader understanding of artistic movements studied during the class may complement it with Image à la loupe drop-in workshops from French à la carte program.
