Seminar - Danse & Culture

Following a celebrated seminar in partnership with PAM, we will next honor dance in partnership with White Bird as they present France's National Center for Contemporary Dance/Angers, under the direction of former Cunningham dancer Robert Swinston. For the last session of the seminar, students will attend CNDC-Angers' performance of two masterworks by the legendary Merce Cunningham: “Biped” and “Beach Birds” at the Newmark Theatre. (Ticket price included in seminar tuition.)

This 5-week seminar offers a multifaceted look at dance from its French origins through its development in the 20th century, including visual arts and the role of the French state. Each session will be led by a different, specialized instructor.
