Beginning Saison 101/102 (Accelerated)

Required: N/A. Prepare for CECR A1 level.

Description: This course will cover material in both the Saison 101 & Saison 102 classes. Communication: Greetings, introductions, nationalities and numbers, expressing preferences, "tu" vs. "vous" forms of address; making a request; inviting, accepting and refusing; telling time; giving your opinion. Grammar: Basic irregular verbs; ‘er’ verbs ; introduction to pronouns adjectives and articles; possessives; interrogative forms; alphabet; numbers; "ne pas"; near future tense; "il y a"; direct object pronouns; introduction to passé composé with "avoir"; idiomatic expressions. Phonetics: Intonation, rhythm, elision, vowel sounds, final sounds, some consonant sounds, liaison. Appropriate for those who have had a little French, but don’t feel prepared to start right off with 102.

Communication: Greetings, describing/introducing oneself and others; discussing likes and dislikes; future plans.

Grammar: Verbs "to be", "to have", " to do" , “to go” and the -ER conjugation; introduction to pronouns; masculine/feminine adjectives; possessives; alphabet; numbers; “c’est” vs. “il est”; negation with "ne... pas"; near future tense.

After 6 pm weekdays, students may park in the Willamette Dental lot at SW 20th and SW Jefferson as available.
