Young French Cinema:
Antoinette dans les CÉvennes

Discover this César-nominated film from Caroline Vignal that's a real gem. According to IMDb, "This charming, bucolic comedy is undeniably the most beautiful surprise that French cinema has given us lately."
Paris schoolteacher Antoinette decides to follow her married lover Vladimir (and his wife and daughter) on a summer hike on the
trail followed by Robert Louis Stevenson in Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes. Antoinette soon realizes this
impromptu vacation is not what she imagined: Vladimir is nowhere in sight, and her traveling companion is a recalcitrant donkey
called Patrick.
Says one viewer: “I enjoyed this romantic comedy immensely, not only for the humor but also for the glimpse into cultural
differences around love, affairs of the heart, and more. Being a fan of Call My Agent, it was also fun to see César-winning
Laure Calamy in the starring role. Finally, it was very interesting to see the gorgeous scenery of the Cévennes area of France – watching
the movie felt like a mini-vacation!”
