We’re Hiring – French Instructor
Position Summary
We are seeking qualified part-time, in-person French instructors to teach adult and/or youth classes. Our language school operates year-round with four 10-week terms, offering daytime classes Monday through Saturday and evening classes Monday through Thursday.
Reporting to the Education Coordinator, instructors are responsible for delivering immersive French instruction aligned with the established curriculum. Depending on experience in pedagogy and curriculum design, instructors may also be invited to contribute to the development of new courses.
Start date: September 2026
Job Responsibilities
- Teach French language classes using the immersion method for group and/or private students
- Maintain accurate administrative records of attendance and student progress
- Organize and publish class materials through Google Classroom
- Participate in mandatory quarterly meetings organized by the Education Coordinator, annual performance reviews, and seasonal open houses
Job Requirements
- C2 level fluency in French
- Previous experience teaching French or a postgraduate degree in a related field.
- Advanced degree in French, FLE (or DAEFLE), or equivalent; candidates without certification must demonstrate willingness and ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with digital learning and classroom management platforms, or willingness to learn new tools.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the U.S. required.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities, with a consistently professional and positive attitude.
Salary
$24–$30 per hour, depending on education level and experience teaching French as a foreign language (FLE).
