Resources for Traveling
and Studying in France

There are many services for finding rentals in France. What we list here is unique, as our Alliance members have had direct experience with these services, properties, and providers. Often the owners are Alliance members themselves who, in some cases, offer discounts to fellow members.

In the Languedoc Area

Alliance member Clara Steiner-Jay offers fellow members a 10% discount on bookings of her Languedoc home, complete with large pool and walled garden in a wine-growing village just a 30-minute drive from Mediterranean beaches. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen and living room. Nearby towns and historic sites to visit include Carcassonne, Narbonne, Canal du Midi, Perpignan, Châteaux cathares, Lagrasse, Abbaye de Fontfroide, Céret, Collioure, and Tautavel. The closest airports are Toulouse and Barcelona; closest train stations, Narbonne or Perpignan. Read more about the property in the online listings in English or en français.  Contact the owner by email.

In Provence: Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Venasque

Alliance de Portland member Michele Bowler-Failing has operated Your Own French Home for many years and offers two stunning properties for rent in Provence. One is in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the other is in Venasque, renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in France. For further information, click here. Alliance members are entitled to 10% off the listed prices and enjoy the unique benefit of meeting with the properties’ representatives here in Portland for an informative discussion on their planned stays.

On the Riviera: Antibes

Alliance member Diana Shenk offers Alliance members a 10% discount on bookings of her beach front condo in Antibes. The second floor one-bedroom unit with a fully equipped kitchen comes with a swimming pool and parking. It’s just a short stroll to the Picasso Museum and a 15-minute walk to the excellent nightlife of Juan les Pins. The condo has views of the nearby Plage Salis and the pine-clad Cap d’Antibes.
