During Portland's season of rainy gray skies, come soak in the vibrant warmth of the Mediterranean through the photo exhibition Couleurs
Méditerranée.
Join us for the exhibition opening on November 20th from 5-6:30 pm.
Explore the vibrant colors, evocative light, and distinctive atmospheres of the Mediterranean through the work of photographers François Le
Diascorn, Gladys, Hervé Gloaguen, Yves Jeanmougin, Martine Voyeux, John Batho, and Dolorès Marat. From the golden nights of Rome and the
muted dawns of Algiers to the sun-drenched streets of Naples and the luminous landscapes of the desert, these photographs capture the
region’s beauty, mystery, and emotional depth. United by their personal visions and explorations of color, the artists transform familiar
places into poetic scenes shaped by sunlight, memory, and imagination.
This event is free to attend, but an RSVP is required. Optional donations are warmly welcomed and help the Alliance continue offering free arts and cultural programming to our community.
About the exhibit:
On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of photography in 2026, France's Ministry of Culture has called for a major celebration honoring photographic creation and heritage in all their forms, throughout the country and abroad. This exhibition is part of series offered by GrandPalaisRmn and the Médiathèque du patrimoine et de la photographie, with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
