In-Person Translation Lab:
Join an In-Person meet-up for brain flexibility!
For those interested in literary and creative translation, this group will be a space to learn theories and methods of translation and to practice in a guided and collaborative environment.
Each meeting will involve reading segments from a French play or novel aloud, identifying the qualities of the text, translation practice in solo exercises, sharing work, and discussing methods.
It will also provide instruction about historical strategies of translation to help the participants structure their own work. Ideal starting from intermediate French level and up, including native speakers.
This group will meet Saturday mornings, from 10:20-12:00, starting April 9. It is led by the Alliance volunteer, Leah Alpern. Conducted in
English and French.
This is a free group, but registration is required.
IMPORTANT: April 23 session is cancelled due to facilitator's unforeseen schedule
change. The next session will be on April 30.
Please note: All attendees will be asked to present proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
