Additional Screening: La voie royale (Night of Ideas 2026)

Following our Night of Ideas screening, the Alliance Française de Portland will host an additional screening of La Voie royale (The Path of Excellence) on Saturday, May 9 at 6pm at the Alliance Française.

This screening is offered for guests who were unable to stay for the original screening following the technical delay at Lincoln Hall. The film will be presented in French with English subtitles.

While there will not be a formal post-film discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to stay afterward for an informal Q&A and conversation with Elene Zedginidze, Executive Director of the Alliance Française de Portland.

Sophie is a brilliant high school student. Encouraged by her math teacher, she leaves the family farm to attend a scientific preparatory class. With his third feature film, Swiss director Frédéric Mermoud successfully tells a story about the challenges of social mobility and portrays a determined protagonist wonderfully played by Suzanne Jouannet.
