Scholarships

What We Offer

• Full and partial scholarships for both term-length and mini language classes.
• Summer camp scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded for one term only (or one summer camp session) and may cover either full tuition or 50% of tuition. Awards are allocated term by term to ensure access throughout the year.  

First Round (Fall 2025): Scholarships will be awarded for adult mini classes.

Second Round (Winter 2026): Scholarships for children’s classes and for adult full-term and mini classes will be available. Details will be announced in our newsletter in November 2025.

Third Round (Spring 2026) and Fourth Round (Summer 2026): Scholarship opportunities will be announced soon.

Who Can Apply & How to Apply

The scholarship program is designed to support learners who might not otherwise have access to French classes. 

To apply, please email us at info@afportland.org with:

• A brief note to help us understand your need for a scholarship.
• A short statement expressing your motivation to pursue French and explaining how this scholarship would support your personal or professional growth.

All application information will be treated as confidential and reviewed only by the Scholarship Committee, composed of staff members, teachers, and board representatives.

Deadline for the first round of applications: September 20, 2025. Awardees will be notified by email within two weeks of the deadline.
