French Classes for Adults
Adult classes (18+) are taught in French by a native-fluent instructor in a stress-free, exam-free environment. General classes emphasize oral and written comprehension and production. Themed classes and workshops hone in on specific linguistic and cultural skills. Textbooks and course materials are available for purchase at the Alliance.

Practical, everyday topics are woven into real-life dialogues with vocabulary (both formal and slang/informal) and grammar tips. Improve your conversational skills, gain confidence and start talking!
Civilisation de la Francophonie
Through the text, Civilisation progressive de la francophonie, learn about the diversity and richness of societies outside of France; the culture and civilization, traditional dances, food, transportation and more.
Writing in French can be challenging even at the highest level. Classes will be focused on learning the nuances of French orthography and perfecting strategies for communicating in written French.
French Classes for Children
The children's program offers classes for Anglophone children ages 2-14, and classes for children ages 11-14 who have formerly attended French immersion schools and wish to keep up their French. The parent-child classes (2-3 year-olds, and 4-6 year-olds) are designed to provide a playful, stimulating environment in which parents and children learn together. In the 7-10 and 11-14 classes, children will study French in an engaging, educational and age-appropriate setting through cultural and linguistic immersion. Following an interactive method designed especially for young learners, each session presents different themes and linguistic skills, allowing students to explore the French language and francophone culture.
In response to COVID19, the Alliance is keeping its social distance by only offering online classes until further notice. See you online!
The classes for 5 and 6 year olds will study subjects sure to spark their imagination and curiosity. Whether your child is a beginner learner or well on their way toward fluency, you will find a perfect fit to enhance and enrich their daily activities with French language practice and, more importantly, fun.
After the online school day has ended and with few after-school programs available this fall, your child may want or need some additional French practice in subjects sure to spark their imagination and curiosity. Whether your child is a true beginner or well on their way toward fluency, you will find a perfect fit to enhance and enrich their online school activities with French language practice and, more importantly, fun. Choose from French for True Beginners, or Nature Explorers at Introductory or Continuing Immersion levels.
