Taste and learn: virtual history and wine tour of the western Loire Valley from the Atlantic to Orléans
Join us as we journey along the Loire River from the Atlantic coast to Orléans, exploring the landscapes, history, and culture that have shaped this remarkable region. Along the way, we’ll discover how its diverse soils, subclimates, and grape varieties give rise to an extraordinary range of wines—each a reflection of the land and its long, storied past.
We will taste a variety of wines that reflect this important region.
This tasting is part of our Sunday Wine Series—but we’re making an exception! It’s happening on Wednesday to welcome our international guest speaker visiting Portland.
Maxine Borcherding, founder of the Alliance's wine seminars, will lead this tasting in person. Now a living in Europe, Maxine is in Portland for a brief visit. We are so thankful!
The Alliance Wine Series is offered monthly, usually on the third Sunday of the month.
(And for the occasional bonus event.) In English!
