Walking the Grandes Randonnées of France

Alliance student Gerald Cosby will present a seminar on “Walking the Grandes Randonnées of France.” France has around 60,000 kilometers of Grandes Randonnées (long-distance trails).

Gerald has walked several thousand kilometers of those trails, carrying his backpack, and exploring the countryside. He will be providing practical tips for would-be hikers.

Sorry, this event is now SOLD OUT. Email info@afportland.org if you’d like to be placed on the waitlist.

Some of the topics to be covered are: where and when to go, how to get information about the trails, what should you take, and what should you leave at home, what to do in an emergency, how to plan ahead. The tips he provides will be based upon his extensive personal experiences.

Whether you plan to spend a few days or a few weeks on the trail, Gerald will be able to provide you with practical tips to make your hike easier and more pleasant.

Reserve here for the event at 6:15 pm on Friday, April 14, at the Alliance Française. Free to Alliance members; $5 for non-members.

The presentation will be mainly in English with some French vocabulary. (Not yet a member but wishing to consider it? Sign up on the same form as the event registration – quick and easy.)
