Highlights of the Canals and Rivers of France

On Friday, January 17 at 6:15 pm, the Alliance will host a presentation by Neil and Joan Malling on the highlights of the canals and rivers of France.

canal in southern FranceOver the centuries many French cities and towns developed along the country’s waterways. Traveling by boat is a unique and relaxing way of exploring these interesting and historic places, enjoying the countryside, and experiencing local food and wine.
The Mallings have skippered their own boat through the inland waterways of France since 2002. They will share highlights of their travels on the Seine, Marne, and Rhone rivers as well as several canals. They will also discuss the various options for cruising the waterways: river cruisers, hotel barges, and self-skippered rentals.

Joan and Neil have presented to Alliance members several times over the past few years. This presentation contains new and updated information which is sure to be of interest to all.
