Author Timothy Williams on the French West Indies

Author Timothy Williams will speak at the Alliance’s Kamm House on March 13th at 6:15 pm. Born in London in 1946, Williams fell under the spell of the French West Indies when he saw Truffaut’s La Sirène du Mississippi.

Williams lives in Pointe-à-Pitre on the island of Guadeloupe and  has been teaching in for over 30 years and is the author of Un Autre Soleil (Rivages Noirs-2011) and The Honest Folk of Guadeloupe (Soho Press-2015), both set in the French Caribbean.

He will be in Portland in March for the 25th Anniversary of the Left Coast Crime Convention and will steal away some time from this big event to come talk about his books, the history of “Les Antilles,” his years in Guadeloupe….

And answer all of the questions you might have! The presentation will be in English with some French.
