Artist’s Talk by French Graphic Novelists Kerascoët at PSU

The Comics Studies Program at Portland State University, The PSU Speakers Board, and the French Embassy in the United States are proud to present acclaimed French graphic novelists Kerascoët.

The event will take place on Tuesday, November 8th in the Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 338 from 10:00am-12:00pm. The Smith Memorial Student Union is located at 1825 SW Broadway, Portland, OR on the Portland State University campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Kerascoët is the joint pen name of French artists Marie Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset. The partners have worked on numerous graphic novels and children’s books in addition to the animated television series “Petit Vampire.” Kerascoët was nominated for the Ignatz Award for Outstanding Graphic Novel for Beauty and for an Eisner Award for Beautiful Darkness. Kerascoët’s lushly illustrated comics often explore fairy tale tropes through a dark, philosophical lens, juxtaposing a whimsical innocence with alarming horror. The event will feature a Q&A session with the artists as well as a presentation of their work.

The Comics Studies Program at Portland State University educates the next generation of comics scholars, creators, and professionals. Please visit http://www.pdx.edu/comics-studies/ for more information.
