Something I appreciate about learning French at the Alliance is I learn about everyday interactions. Here I'm learning to talk about art, jobs and employment, sports, family relationships and friendship, and history. It reminds me of the joy of learning a new language that I felt in seventh grade.
I really appreciate that my instructor only speaks French — or almost only French — from day one. There’s that kind of immersion quality to the class. I like the combination of of small group, individual, and all-class discussions.
And I think my teacher is a great cheerleader!
One of the things I like the most is the proficiency of the teachers. All of the courses I’ve taken here have been taught by just exceptional teachers, including my current one. She really has a great grasp and understanding of the subject. She explains things; she knows when we’re lost. I mean, she pulls it out of you – she makes you think.
